Teen Halloween Party Ideas

Most teens have outgrown trick-or-treating, but still love Halloween. Why not help your teen plan a fun Halloween party to help them celebrate with their friends in a safe environment. Teens can sometimes be a tough audience to please. After all, they’re too old for childish entertainment and games, and they’re dying to look cool. But with all of that coolness in the air, a teen party can get pretty dull unless you find a way to get them active and involved with the party.

Here are a few teen Halloween party ideas

  • Invite all teens to come in costume. Put both a start time and an ending time on invitations.
  • Decorate with anything from streamers and balloons to a full-scale haunted house.
  • Teens LOVE Music. Why not invite the teen guests to bring one CD along with so that they can alternate the music that is played during the party.
  • Teens also LOVE to eat, kids the treats/food simple but fun for them to munch on as they socialize.
  • Consider games with a spooky Halloween flavor - bring out the Ouija board and the tarot cards (some parents are against this and that is perfectly fine to omit this step). You may want to put in one of the Halloween Movies (if time permits).

Fun Teen Halloween Party Treats

  • Serve pizza, mixing 6 tbps. of parmesan cheese with ten drops each red, green and yellow food coloring and put over pizza for a “moldy” look.
  • Serve punch in a witch’s cauldron with dry ice. Have each teen bring a 12-oz. can of soda and pour it into a punchbowl for a strange tasting and looking drink.
  • For dessert, why not serve pumpkin pie or pumpkin ice cream with candy corn sprinkled on top.

Teen Halloween party safety tips

  • Never should you allow alcohol to be served at a party involving teenagers
  • Be sure that there is a parent picking up the teen from your home or that they have a valid drivers license and are driving straight home.
  • Keep in contact with the parents of the teens that are attending the party to let them know that the party will be properly supervised.

Some key points to keep in mind

  • Adult supervision will be needed at your teens party but please don’t sit in the room with them the entire time. Teens should be allowed to freedom to have FUN with their peers. A few good checkups on the party is all it takes.
  • Be sure to get your teen involved in MOST of the planning, after all who knows what’s fun for a teen more than a teen himself.
