My Teen and Her Cell Phone
Growing up I never had a cell phone. But that could of been because cell phones were just coming out and you had to be some big wig CEO to have one. Not like now days when you see 1st and 2nd graders walking down the street with their cell phones.
My 15 Year old daughter has a cell phone and I seriously think it may be attached to her. She can probley text faster then any know person. And I don’t think there is a time when her phone is not ringing or letting her know she has a text message.
But we have rules for when she can text around us. There is no cell phones allowed at the dinner table . If we are going out as a family she is to put the phone on vibrate and answer it when she is not doing something with us.
But last night her and I sat down to watch a movie together and I was ready to throw that phone out the window. It would not stop going off. I finally said, “Either put it on vibrate or go away.” I know that is not nice but you seriously can not watch a movie if all you hear is a cell phone ringing.
Does your child have a cell phone? Do you have rules when you can and can’t use it? Let me hear about it.

Luckily my younger ones that I have dealt with have not been rude with the cell phone. For us, cell phones are off for everyone during family time: no exceptions!

1That’s a good rule John. Fortunately my kids aren’t old enough for a cell phone although I’m sure there are some 5 and 7 year olds with them. I am just totally against children having cell phones. Gosh, I even hate having mine at times. Life was nice without cell phones
