I am glad that you enjoyed the article. You are so right it is a time where we as parents find ourselves wondering what we will do all day and how we are going to cook with one less in the house and we just get overwhelmed with emotions.

But again you make a good point. It is time to think about Mom and start doing things mom like to do.

Tricia's last blog post..Tips for Keeping Your Teen Safe on the Road this Summer

You make some very good points here, as many parents tend to feel sadness about this time in their child's life, along with monumental joy. Mixed emotions about how their parental role has changed, and now that the graduating senior is likely heading off to college and careers, parents often wonder what to do with themselves.

As exciting a time as it is for the college-bound student to head off on their own and begin building their lives, it is also a phenomenal opportunity for parents to doing things for themselves that they enjoy or never had the chance to do before. Seize the day, enjoy the freedoms coming to begin some enjoyable hobbies that will fill your time now that the kids are leaving the nest, and don't just sit around being depressed and lonely. Get out there and do something for yourself that you've always wished you could do.
