Hi there Moms, what are your teens reading?
Even with all of the books, papers and homework that our teens are getting from school, it is important that they are also reading things that help to mold them as individuals.
Many times it is hard to get our teens to open up and talk to us about many pressing issues and reading stories that outline situations that they may be going through is very helpful to them and it can also open up the lines of communication.
I am sure you’ve heard of Chicken Soup. No, not the type that you eat when you are sick, the type that you read to be lifted up {{smile}}. There is a great book out for teens that both of my own daughters have already read - Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul. The Book consists of 101 stories every teenager can relate to and learn from — without feeling criticized or judged. The book contains important lessons on the nature of friendship and love, the importance of belief in the future, and the value of respect for oneself and others, and much more.
Enjoy!
Warmly -
